Join us for every second weekend for 3 months, starting on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, as we explore:
Juliana Lavell, CYA-E-RYT500
Moksha Yoga/ Aerial Yoga / Joga Athletic Yoga / Restorative & Yin
From a young age Juliana was surrounded by Yoga and alternative practices from her Mother,
a fire walking Kundalini practitioner. Her connection to nature and the rhythms of the universe
lead her to pursue many passions such as studying Herbology with The Wild Rose College,
anthropology and Sociology with UBC. Her travels led her to many great teachers and shamans
including in depth study of Plant Medicine Iboga where she participated in Ceremony.
Juliana has co-directed numerous Yoga Retreats, both in Costa Rica & Canada, that included Traditional Sweat Lodge with an elder. Her teaching style can be described as graceful, awake and transformational. She is passionate about sharing the technology of Pranayama and believes in maintaining an accessible practice that is safe for the long term health of the body. She has a passion for writing (published with Elephant Journal), music (guitar and ukulele) and loves Bhakti Yoga.
She began her teaching journey in 2011 with Moksha Yoga International's 500 hour teacher training based on yoga-therapy and the maintenance of long term health of the joints. Since then she has completed an athletic program for Yoga called "Joga", working with students to enhance athletic performance. She has been a valued teacher to many golfers, hockey players and teams such as the Kelowna Rockets WHL.
Ongoing education has continued to nurture her offerings as a teacher, attending and offering various workshops in Yoga Nidra, Advanced Yoga and Yoga for Alcohol and Drug recovery. She has worked with elderly people using chair yoga, gentle yoga for students in recovery from addictions and private sessions assisting in rehabilitation from injury or surgery.
When Juliana discovered Aerial Yoga in 2012, it was love at first flight! She travelled to Boulder, CO to attend the Boulder Circus Training Institute where she completed her Aerial Yoga Teacher Training with Aircat Aerial Yoga. Her ongoing studies in Vinyasa Yoga, Meditation and extensive personal development inspired her to co-create Into the Mystic Yoga Teacher Training and Elevate Aerial Yoga Teacher Training.
Juliana is a momma bear to her 9 year old daughter Jada Bella. She loves plant medicine, vedic philosophy and will forever be a student of the universe. Taking time for journaling, nature escapes, painting, musical play and mantra.
Bianca d'Errico, CYA-E-RYT200 & Movement Specialist
Bianca's yoga journey was a bit round about. She was on a path to a corporate banking career
when she was in a car accident that tore ligaments in her neck and body, rendering her disabled.
After 6 years with no response to treatments, she was introduced to hot yoga. For the first time
in years, Bianca's injurieswere not more painful after activity. It was victorious and emotional when
poses like downward dog became restorative. The asanas were healing her body and the effect
changed her mind and perspective - on life. Her eyes had opened to realize that sharing yoga was
her true calling.
Bianca took her teacher training through Frog Lotus International and later immersed herself into the world of athletic yoga through a renowned program called JOGA, becoming the Western Canadian Master Trainer for new Joga teachers.
"The entire yogic experience has revived my soul. Practicing is the most intense expression of inner peace, joy and freedom that I have
ever had. My hope is for all of my students to explore the possibilities that lie on their mats. I aspire to inspire them to discover new
heights by challenging their minds, connecting with their bodies, uniting breath with movement and most importantly experiencing peace
Bianca has shared her practice with students in Vancouver and the Okanagan area. Today, Bianca teaches clients ranging from professional athletes and teams to the disabled. She has created chronic pain workshops, developed regen and recovery programming for professional athletic organizations & coaches. Bianca also coaches and trains health specialists in the Joga system as well as developing personalized rehabilitation techniques and yoga exercises for clients. She is an avid supporter of organizations that cater to helping people with emotional, mental and physical limitations.
